The preparation changes the interpretation
A fermented cultured-wild-ginseng preparation in an intestinal cell model and a Korean red-ginseng extract in gastric epithelial cells answer different questions.
One cataloged study separately tested unfermented cultured-wild-ginseng roots, fermented ginseng, and extracellular-vesicle preparations in LPS-challenged Caco-2 monolayers. Another used Korean Red Ginseng extract in H. pylori-infected AGS gastric epithelial cells.
Fermentation-specific or cell-specific findings must not be attributed to plain ginseng, to an unspecified material, or to the finished formula.
